The Austin Chronicle had a great piece on Art of
the Pot this week which unfortunately included a reference to a past event
at St Stephens School scheduled for Mother's
day which is NOT part of this weekend's events.
Don't go there! Check this
site or your brochure for event times and places!
The clocks have expired!
It begins! the Kiln's across Austin and the USA are empty and their
results are now in the studio's across Austin!
All of the tour participants
look forward to seeing you in our open studios.
The Austin, Texas "Art of the Pot" ceramics tour heads into it's third year with eleven more exceptional Texas and national ceramic artists who will share the studios of 5 veteran Austin potters whose studios are located from far East Austin to the Hill Country West of Austin. Come meet them, see and feel their work and experience the power that sixteen top artists can generate in a single spring weekend.
Below you will find links to the Austin Artists and their studios as well as links to information and images of each of the Visiting Artists.
There are also links to printable tour maps, sponsors, special events that will be taking place on the weekend of the tour, sponsors who help make the tour possible, archives of the two previous tour web pages, contact information and info on how you can win art by simply completing the tour. In addition to all of the other pottery treats here and on this year's tour, Trinity Clay has allowed us to place a special treat on this site for those who enjoy music as much as they do clay.
Come join us for an "All Pottery" Spring Weekend

One surprising (to us) comment that we heard many times during the 2004 Art of the Pot Tour was;The good news is it's been here for many years, the bad news is so few people in our huge metropolitan region have been able to uncover the great clay talents that are a permanent part of the Austin art world. We all hope the success of this annual tour keeps these talents visible and continues to showcase the many others who have been working with clay for decades. |
This website is your best source for immediate, up to date information on the tour including such details as road closings or other events that may have an impact on those planning for or taking the tour.
